Mcqueen Spring Collection

After the unfortunate death of Alexander Mcqueen, we have to ask who will follow in his footsteps? Well Sarah Burton has shown her inspirational work for the Mcqueen Cruise 2011 line. This will be her first full Alexander Mcqueen womenswear line. Her work has been inspired by Hans Bellmer's dolls and samurai warriors, she wanted to mix the pale and delicate with the bold armour.


Sarah has already styled Lady Gaga and SJP before she moved to designing the Mcqueen fashions. But she had picked up Mcqueens tailoring style very well, mixing it with a softer edge to make for more fluid designs.

Made out of 120 zips this dress can be changed from wearer to wearer. Meaning that it suits whatever occasion and you can change in a matter of seconds. You may see all the benifits of a dress like this, but do zippers suit every occasion? I think they may look slightly tarty at your friends wedding, or at a business meeting. And also, metal is not the best thing to wear for temperature, when its cold, metal is freezing, and when its warm, metal gets unbearably hot! But you know, people will think the ways around this, it will be sorted out in a year or so ;)

Colour-in dress

Now, this may sound like a colouring book for children, but Berber Soepboer teamed up with Michiel Schuurman to make this wonderful idea. This black and white dessin is a creative idea which Berber approached Michiel with in 2008. The similarity that this dress has with all her other work is that it can be altered, to make all clothes different.

Christopher Kane at Milan Fashion week

Christophers versus female collection was shown at Milan Fashion week. He describes it as 'the contradiction of ballet with fetish, something a bit subversive' and he is deffinatly right. The looks are a bit of bondage mixed with tutus, but still equally mode, something that would make even the plainest of girls look great.

The look seemed to be edgy and and 'bad girl', but with no actual leather coats or biker boots. The contemporary edgy look has been completly changed by Kanes collection. Kanes first collection for Versus, spring/summer 11 will be on sale at Browns and Harvey Nichols in london.

How to wear... High Waisted shorts.

Audrey Hepburn first inspired is with the high waisted short. She looks infinatly stylish and ontop of it all.

But how can you find this same look? Well investing in some high waisted shorts would be a good start! But what type? How should you wear them?

Now if you know your stuff about high waisted shorts, they are not for the larger ladies really, there is a certain body type that can wear high waisted shorts, and really its those with the most wanted long skinny legs!




I think the best type of high waisted shorts are denim. They are something that you can pair with everything, and then more.

High waisted denim can be dressed down for every day in summer, or if you want then a nice top and heels will make your party look complete. Despite what I have said, I would suggest these for your interview, a funeral or some other boring occasion.
I suggest tucking your top into your shorts for a more casual look, and also it show that youre wearing them, otherwise it can cover up your shorts. They are also a good excuse to wear a crop top without showing too much skin.


Mom shorts are also around, these high waisted shorts are hard to pull off. They have been talked about since Kourtney Kardashian stepped out in these Forever 21 shorts to make a quick visit out. It hard to make these shorts not look frumpy. So if you can, make the most of it!
